Walking Mountains Science Center is a nonprofit organization that provides natural science and environmental education programs to school children, families, adults, residents and visitors alike on public lands throughout Eagle County.
The science center provides programs for Eagle County schools, summer science day camps, overnight camps, and adult/family excursions. Students are immersed in outdoor learning experiences where they make detailed observation, work together as a team, participate in research affecting local and national land-use decisions, and gain greater connection to the natural world in which they live.
Formerly named Gore Range Natural Science School, these educational programs enhance scientific literacy, build environmental awareness and inspire stewardship. The science center is currently building the Buck Creek Campus, an exciting project that is striving for LEED Platinum Certification through an extensive green build plan.
